Where the Day Takes You… began life as a brothers KIME record — written and recorded during a stretch when life felt steady for Ran Kime, even good, but love had started to thin around the edges. The songs came from that quiet in-between space, where routines settle in and the first cracks in a relationship begin to show.

Late in the process, dirty lil’ trollops drummer Jason Rodriguez stepped in to rework every drum track, reshaping the feel and pulling the record in a new direction. Terry Bouchie also added his guitar accents on top. What emerged was something looser, heavier, and more lived-in — a dirty lil’ trollops album in both sound and spirit, and the fourth release added to dlt’s growing demo roster.
